During the Autumn winter squashes are in season and are at a great price. I just picked some acorn squash here at my local grocery store last night for 59¢ a lb. Which is just a great price. However these bad boys are hard to cut. If you have never cut a hard winter squash here is a very helpful video from Chow.com that shows you how it is done…
There are two methods
- Saw into it with a serrated knife.
- Hack into it with a cleaver.
I tried the sawing method…yeah that did not work so well for me. The hacking method with a meat cleaver worked great however for me. Give it a try and let us know which way works for you?
