Crock-Pot Overnight Apple Oatmeal

This low sugar recipe for oatmeal in the crock-pot comes to us from Brenda Bennett. Looks like an easy and healthy way to have the most important meal of the day!


2 Cups Low-Fat Milk (Soy or Almond Will Work as Well)
2 Tablespoons Honey (Or 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar)
1 Tablespoon Light Butter
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Cup Dry Old Fashioned Oats
1 Cup Apple, Chopped (Optional)
1/4 Cup Raisins (Optional)


  1. Spray inside of slow cooker with non-fat cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, mix all ingredients and pour into cooker.
  3. Cover and cook on low overnight, ideally no more than 6 hours or it will dry out.
  4. Stir well in the morning before serving and YUM!

      Hey Kim that is a really great question. However this was a recipe submitted to us by a reader so I don’t actually have that kind of information available. That being said looking over the recipe I think this is one that is meant to be eaten for breakfast after it is made and not really a recipe for storing. However it would probably keep just fine in the refrigerator for a day or two and be warmed up. But I am not a fan of cold oatmeal warmed up myself.
