Dip on in to this Keto and Weight Watchers friendly Crock-Pot Skinny Spinach Dip! A great healthy dip that is perfect for your next party or get-together!

Slow Cooker Skinny Spinach Dip
We have made several versions of spinach dip in the slow cooker before… such as Easy Artichoke and Spinach Dip, Asiago Spinach Dip, Warm Spinach Dip, and Spinach and Artichoke Dip. BUT none of them have been particularly healthy.
So, I decided to go ahead and create a lightened up version using fat free Greek yogurt, sour cream and mozzarella cheese. And the flavor comes from full-fat Parmesan cheese and garlic.
The hardest part of this recipe is thawing and squeezing out the excess water from the frozen spinach. I really love this method shown in the following video using the OXO Potato Ricer!
Equipment Needed For Crock-Pot Skinny Spinach Dip Recipe:

Frequently Asked Questions
For food safety reasons it is best to use the WARM setting on your slow cooker for no more than 4 hours. So unless your party is going on for a really long time you should be good to go at keeping this spinach dip recipe warm for 1 to 4 hours. Keep in mind that if the lid if off or on and off a lot the heat will escape from your dip sooner.
In this recipe I opted to use full-fat Parmesan Cheese because I think it has the best flavor. And to be honest Parmesan Cheese is actually pretty low in fat. If you are using authentic Parmigiano ReggianoĀ the fat content is only 5 grams of fat per 100 grams of cheese. And, since you are only usingĀ 1/2 cup of cheese the fat content from the cheese is negligible. That, being said, if you can find fat-free or low-fat Parmesan cheese go for it!
The healthiest option for dipping into this yummy spinach dip is going to but cut up vegetables. I like carrot sticks, and red bell pepper sticks the best. But other vegetables that work well is jicama, celery sticks, endive leaves, broccoli florets and cauliflower florets.
If veggies are not your thing then look for lower calorie options like baked tortilla chips or pita chips.
And if you are on a Keto or gluten free diet Parmesan cheese crisps or even pork rinds (chicharrones) are great options too!

Can dip be prepared in the oven? I do not own a 3-4 quart slow cooker. Thanks.
Hi Lyn, while I have not prepared this dish in an oven I don’t see why it couldn’t be baked. If I were to give it a try I would bake at 350 F for about 30 minutes or so. Another idea if you don’t have a smaller slow cooker would be to place an oven-safe dish inside your larger slow cooker and cook it in that. I have used a Pyrex glass bowl inside larger slow cookers with great sucess!
Is the serving size 1 ounce?
Hi Richdt, the serving size is 1/12th of the finished recipe.
There is no serving size, the nutrition information is there but just wondering for what serving size? Thanks in advance
Hi Jacqueline, this recipe serves 12 people. So a serving size would be 1/12th of the finished recipe. Unfortunately we do not measure out serving sizes in weight or volume.
