Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Meatballs
Do you need an EASY appetizer to serve at your next party or get-together? Then look no further than this simple 4-ingredient recipe for honey garlic meatballs made in your slow cooker.
This recipe starts with a bag of frozen home-style meatballs. Then a big bottle of your favorite brand of barbecue sauce is dumped on top and then a whole lot of minced garlic and little honey is added and everything is stirred together until the meatballs are coated in the sauce.
Then, all you do is cover that slow cooker up and let those meatballs cook away for 4 to 6 hours until the meatballs are cooked and the garlic has imparted its wonderfully garlic flavor through the whole crock of tender meatballs.
The combination of savory meatballs mellowed out garlic and a touch of sweet and smoky is perfection.
Set out a bowl of toothpicks, open the lid and let your party guests grab a yummy meatball (or two or 6) and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions
When using frozen pre-cooked meatballs there is no need to thaw them before adding to the slow cooker. However if you have already thawed the meatballs you may need to cut the cooking time by about an hour or two.
If you prefer to make your own meatballs then you can of course use those instead of the store-bought meatballs called for in this recipe. Keep in mind however that you want to use fully-cooked meatballs in this recipe and not meatballs that are raw and uncooked.
If you are on a gluten-free diet this recipe can easily be adapted to be made gluten-free by simply making sure all of your store bought ingredients do not contain any gluten. The brand of meatballs we used for testing purposes (Cooked Perfect brand) contain wheat bread crumbs, therefor they are not gluten free. However there are several brand on the market that are gluten free such as the Good u0026 Gather All Natural USDA Grassfed Beef Meatballs.
Food is safely kept warm for up to 4 hours on the WARM setting of the slow cooker provided that the lid is kept on as much as possible. If you are serving food from the slow cooker on the WARM setting with the lid off we suggest eating the food within 2 hours.
