So a couple of months back I made a dish I called Crock-Pot BIG POT of Baked Beans. I was in charge of the food at a church event and had wanted to do a different menu then previously meals of “cold hamburgers” and “colder hotdogs” that honestly we were are all a bit sick of. So I offered to cook the food if I could choose how too cook it! We had pulled pork sandwiches (where I cooked 18 Pounds of Pork) and then the Pork and Beans that I transitioned to Baked Beans. This was easy to do, and absolutely delicious. The base is your average 7 pound can of Pork and Beans that you can purchase at Sam’s Club or Costco and then we add a bunch of yummy to it, and cooked off the excess soup-i-ness to get it that Baked Beans feel. I toned down the spiciness of the beans due to the young children that would be eating it, but feel free to ramp up the heat to your parties temperature likes. We liked this so much that I promptly came home and made a whole nother batch. And one of my goals is to figure out how to then use my pressure canner and process this so we have it on hand, as it’s yummo.
