My husband surprised me late at night that we were having guests the next day for lunch. Luckily, they were bringing lunch but I needed a quick dessert. I had a tupperware container full of crushed pineapple that was given to me the day before. I also had a yellow cake mix. I was able to find a recipe for a Pineapple and Cherry Dump Cake, but I did not have a can of cherry pie filling. So I “winged” it and hoped for the best. It was a hit. The pineapple flavor mixed well with cake mix and did not overpower it.
Crock-Pot Pineapple Dump Cake
1-2 Cups Crushed Pineapple (about one can)
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Yellow Cake Mix
2 Sticks Butter, Melted
- Add pineapple to the bottom of the crock-pot.
- Sprinkle the sugar on top of the pineapple.
- Next sprinkle the dry cake mix on top of the pineapple evenly.
- Poor the melted butter on top of the cake mix.
- Cook on high for 2 hours.
