Slow Cooker Peach Whiskey Pork Chops
This recipe for Crock-Pot Peach Whiskey Pork Chops came about when I had a package of thick cut pork chops thawing in the refrigerator for dinner and my husband came up from the basement with a jar of the homemade peach preserves I had made last summer and totally forgot we had down there.
Oops my bad!
So immediately I thought I could combine the peach preserves and the pork chops for a sweet summery pork chop dish. But then when I was looking in the pantry to see what I could make as a side dish (rice pilaf was the pantry score) I spotted a bottle of whiskey up on the booze shelf we have way up high. We are not big drinkers really, oh sure every now and then I like a glass of wine with my dinner or my husband will make me a tasty cocktail after the kids go to bed, but it is a rare thing really, maybe once every couple months.
I am not sure what we bought the whiskey for originally, probably one of my husbands cocktails or something. But there it was and I immediately thought that would be delicious in this dish.
So I quickly got all my ingredients together (only 5) and set to prep everything and get it in the crock-pot so I could let it cook while we ran about town running errands and doing… well life and all the things you do with a large family.
I quickly stirred together the jar of peach preserves, whiskey and some minced garlic (if you are in a pinch a teaspoon of jarred pre-minced garlic will work) and set the bowl aside while I browned the pork chops quickly in a little cooking oil.
Browning the pork chops not only gives the pork chops a lovely color but also brings a different flavor dimension to the dish too. It also seals in the juices which makes for a super tender and juicy finished chop.
Then toss the pork chops and peach sauce mixture in the slow cooker and let it cook for about 4 hours on LOW.
I hope you will enjoy this recipe as much as our family did!

LOL Heidi…I’m still LOL’ing @ your rather detailed explanation of why you might have whiskey in your house!!!!! SInce not all whiskies are created equal or even taste the same, what kind of whiskey did you use?? Thanks once again for your help…I always love your recipes! 🙂
this was the worst recipe i got off the internet… very very dry and i had fat chops ugh very disapointed !
I am sorry the recipe didn’t turn out for you Sherry. I am not sure why your pork chops would have come out dry though. Mine come out moist and almost falling apart!
Sherry, I don’t think it was the recipe. Brine your pork chops for about 5-6 hours in I cup of salt dissolved in a gallon of cold water prior to cooking. You can get very creative with what you put in the brine.
I must try this with Thick Gammon stakes I think it will work well
YES!
So yummy!!! And so easy!!! Killer combo. Think I’ll pull the sauce out and thicken it a bit next time but the flavor was wonderful! Thanks for the great recipe!!!
You’re welcome for the recipe Shelley. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! ♥
Would this work with a 3lb boneless pork roast? What kind of whiskey?
While this recipe has not been tested with boneless pork roast I think it should work out okay. As far as whiskey goes I just used Jack Daniels. But you can use whatever brand you like.
can I use peach brandy instead whiskey?
While we have not tested this recipe using peach brandy instead of whiskey we don’t see a reason why that would not work. If you give it a try Audrey be sure to come back and let us know how it turned out for you!
I just finished my supper and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone kept complementing the pork chops, they actually started to fall apart as they were taken out of the crock pot lol I overcooked mine by an hour and they were just a tad bit dry but that was my fault for not having the rest of the meal ready on time and also didn’t put it on warm. I do wonder if the peach brandy has been tried cause that also sounds delicious. I also need to put some sauce to the side in order to put some on top of each chop. Thank you for sharing this recipe, it’s great!
Thank you Barb for the very kind review and rating of this recipe. I am so pleased you enjoyed this recipe. While I have not tried peach brandy I honestly think it would be fantastic. If you give it a try please let me know how it turned out for you!
