Sink your teeth into this delicious recipe for Crock-Pot Honey Garlic Chicken Wings! Served as an appetizer or main dish, these wings are super yummy!

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Wings
Here is another yummy recipe sent to us by reader Linda Zook for her Honey Garlic Chicken Wings.
This recipe was shared with us way back in 2012, back when we posted recipes sent to us by readers, even though we had not cooked and tested them ourselves.
We don’t do that any more (I mean you are welcome to share your recipes with us…but we gotta test them out before posting them on the blog here.
So we are now updating this recipe a little because we have cooked up a batch of these yummy chicken wings, took some new photos of them and re-posting it so that you dear readers, know this is a good recipe and is now officially “Crock-Pot Ladies Approved”. đŸ™‚
I didn’t change the recipe much other than omit seasoning the chicken wings with salt and pepper to taste BEFORE they go in the crock-pot. We have learned that is just not proper recipe writing…there is no way to taste the seasoning “to taste” on raw chicken.
Plus…because this recipe has soy sauce (low sodium…but still) I felt it had plenty of salt. And pepper…add it at the end if you so desire.
Thanks Linda for a fantastic recipe that we are happy to re-share with our readers!

how do I thicken this sauce up it got so watery?
thanks!
I’m trying this today and I can’t wait. Very easy.
To Beth, you can thicken up the sauce with a little bit of cornstarch or flour.
How did they turn out? I would like to try these. I have been searching for a good wing receipe.
Thanks
Cindy
very tasty. everyone loved them.
What type of “oil” is used? Veggie oil or olive oil?
Vegetable oil would work
My kids really liked it. It didn’t turn out like wings, just fell off the bones. I’m trying with boneless breasts today.
Hi, this is Linda Zook. Just thought I would let you ladies know a few different things I do to these wings. If you like spice add a couple pinches of red pepper flakes over the chicken after you pour on the sauce. Sometimes I skip the honey and go with Teriyaki sauce instead. If you go with Teriyaki sauce you may need to thicken the sauce with a tspn of corn starch. Also I like to put my wings under the broiler for 5-8 minutes to crisp up the wings.
Hey Linda, thanks for dropping by with your tips on these wings. I think I am going to sprinkle red pepper flakes next time for sure. I like a little bit of heat!
Thanks so much again Linda for a great recipe.
Could I use the gawava sweetner on place of hony
Hi Shirley, I have never heard of gawava sweetner before. Do you mean agave? If so, yes I think you could use that instead of honey in this recipe. I mean we have never tried it but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. It will have a different flavor of course but give it a try and let us know how it comes out for you.
Yum, these look delicious!
Thanks Roseann!

Hi Ladies,
Am a huge fan of Crock Pot/slow cooked recipes in general. I love slow cooked chicken and think the idea of honey AND garlic is quite original. I will definitely be giving this one a go.
I think the soy help bring out the flavour of the chicken as even though it’s low sodium but it will still have a degree of saltiness.
Great pictures too by the way,. The shiny glaze makes the chicken look sooooooo good! I can almost taste it!
Again, thanks ladies for a great recipe I am just dying to try!!
Thanks for stopping by Lee! And such nice compliments on our recipe too. We love this combo of garlic, honey and soy sauce. Super yum!
Is this a recipe that would do well freezing after cooking since it’s such a large portion?
You should be able to freeze the chicken wings after they are cooked. Just seal them up well (removing as much air as possible) in a freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
Never thought wings can be so delicious. Thank you very much for this wonderful recipe.
So glad you enjoyed this slow cooker wings recipe Jasmine!
Did you pop them in the Broiler to crisp them up ?
That would be my concern.
We did not broil them. But if you like them crispy you can do that for sure!
I cooked them for 8 hours. It was wayyyyy to long.
One participant commented that the meat falls right off the bone. Although this may be tender and delicious, is there a way to prevent that, so that the meat stays intact? Would this be just a matter of cooking at a lesser time? What might such an alternative time be? Any suggestion? I was thinking also to pre-sear the wings, too, to brown and seal the skin, but I’m trying to determine a cooking time for the alternative result as described.
Hey Joseph pre-searing the wings should help and maybe reducing the cooking time just a little bit too. As long as your wings are cooked through you do not have to cook them quite as long. I would try reducing the cooking time by one hour and see how it goes.
Do I have yo use soy?
Can I do without soy?
Soy sauce is a pretty important flavor component in these wings. If you cannot use soy sauce I would suggest substituting with something like a coconut aminos sauce which is a good soy-free soy sauce alternative.
Just tried there, very nice
So glad you enjoyed this recipe, Steve!
