With just 4 ingredients this easy to make dessert recipe for Crock-Pot Chocolate Cherry Cola Dump Cake could not be simpler to make and the flavor is out of this world! Slow Cooker Chocolate Cherry Cola Dump Cake
Valentine’s day is fast approaching and I thought it would be nice to make up something nice and chocolatley to share with you all. I love the combination of chocolate and cherries so a new dump cake recipe was in order.
We have a plain Crock-Pot Cherry Dump Cake recipe already on the blog, and while I LOVE that recipe a chocolate version was due. Besides being chocolate the other difference in this recipe is that we use some cola instead of melted butter to drizzle all over the cake. A little less fat but I guess more sugar.
You could use diet cola if you wish though. But in all honestly this is going to be a decadent dessert.
It’s so easy a child could do it though so don’t you fret. If you can open a can of cherry pie filling, a box of cake mix and a can of cola you can make this recipe.
I made this recipe in my 3.5 quart casserole slow cooker but you can also make this in a 6 quart oval slow cooker too. I just really like the look of desserts made in the casserole cooker!

Going to sound like a strange question but can I use Pepsi instead of Coke? I know some recipes don’t turn out the same if I substitute Pepsi.
Hi Lise, this recipe should come out fine with any brand of cola. Pepsi, Coke, RC cola, etc.
Diet Coke?
You can use either diet cola or regular cola in this recipe Toni-Ann.
How long on high if I double the recipe?
Hi Sandi, this recipe has not been tested doubled. So I cannot give an exact time. But if I were going to try it I would add 1 extra hour to the cooking time and check to see if it is done. If not I would add more time in 30 minute increments. Hope that helps!
Can you use brownie mix?
Hi Kathie,
This recipe hasn’t been tested using brownie mix. I would think it would turn out ok, maybe just more dense or fudgy, rather than cakey? If you try it, come back and let us know how it turned out!
I want to know about the brownie mix with cherry pie filling, too! I may just try it myself. Yum!
