With just a few simple ingredients and a few hours in the slow cooker you can have this EASY recipe for Crock-Pot BBQ Ham Sandwiches. Perfect for lunch or dinner any day of the week!

Slow Cooker BBQ Ham Sandwiches
It was late on a Sunday morning and we were all busy doing Sunday stuff like mowing the lawn, catching up on laundry and meal planning and getting ready for the grocery shopping trip for the week. Before I start meal planning I always take a quick inventory of my pantry, freezer and refrigerator to see what meals I can come up with using items we already have on hand. This is also when I clean out the refrigerator of any food that may have gone bad and give the whole thing a quick wipe out.
While cleaning out the lunch-meat drawer I spotted a bag of 3 pounds of Black Forrest ham that my husband had bought for lunches for work but had forgotten about. I asked him if he was going to eat the ham or could I use it for a recipe and he said it was OK to just go ahead and make something with it.
So I decided to go ahead and make up some yummy BBQ ham sandwiches in the slow cooker for dinner that evening. I wasn’t really in the mood to cook a large meal and my kids always love anything with barbecue sauce in it so I knew it was going to be a winner in their book.
I threw a couple packages of rolls and some chips on the shopping list and I was ready to rock and roll.
This recipe only needs to cook a couple of hours because the ham is already cooked. So I waited until I was ready to go to the grocery store (early evening as it was starting to cool down for the day) to quickly put it together and in the crock-pot. I just chopped up the ham, doctored up a bottle of BBQ sauce with chili sauce, brown sugar, mustard powder, pepper and Worcestershire sauce and threw it all in my 5 quart slow cooker. Gave it a quick stir and turned the pot on to cook for a couple of hours. By the time I got home from the grocery store, got everything unpacked and put away it was time for dinner.
I made up sandwiches, threw some chips on the plate and we all took our dinner outside to the back patio to eat.
It was DELICIOUS.
If you are needing a quick and easy meal to feed your family for either lunch or dinner this one it is. Leftovers taste great all week long for sandwiches or wraps too…my husband can attest to that because while he forgot that ham for his lunches all week he sure did eat up the leftover BBQ ham for his lunches the following week!

I made this for my husband and his work buddies. I think next time I will add less of the chili sauce or just leave it out altogether (personal preference). Thanks for the recipe!
Chili sauce can be a acquired taste for sure Hbriceno. You can easily use less or leave it out altogether the next time.
Will it make a big difference to leave out the dry mustard? I thought I had some after I put in all the other ingredients but I don’t.
Hi Quinn, you can easily leave out the dry mustard in this recipe. If you would like you can add a squirt of prepared mustard. Maybe a teaspoon or two.
