Slow Cooker Apple Dump Cake
This recipe for Crock-Pot Apple Pie Dump Cake was shared to me by my uncle and it really has to be one of the easiest slow cooker dessert recipes I have ever made. Not to mention the tastiest too.
It really just hits the spot on any day when you want a little something sweet. You can make this recipe any time of the year really, but I think it just hits the spot on a crisp autumn day. Something about apples & slow cookers just make you feel comfy cozy and all those warm and fuzzy feelings!
And talk about simple… as the name suggests you just dump everything in the crockpot and turn it on and let it go. When it’s done, scoop some out and maybe top with a scoop or two of ice cream.
Everything is better with ice cream right?
Right!
Or whipped cream, that will work too!
No matter how you top your Apple Pie Dump Cake (or if you like to leave it plain that’s OK too) it will be amazing!

Notes
Nutrition

Try using a spice cake mix in place of the sugar cinnamon and yellow cake mix with apples and two sticks of butter. It is amazing.
That sounds awesome Tess!
Way too much butter! I would use 1 stick next time.
thanks. I used half of the butter, because of your post.
Let us know how it turned out for you Bev!
Tasted great but cooking time was almost double the recipe time in our slow cooker. It’s at HB 6 quarter.
Some slow cookers cook at different temperatures.
No sugar needs to be added. The pie filling is loaded with sugar as is the cake mix. Cut the butter to one stick. This cuts the cook time.
Blackberry pie filling with lemon cake mix. One stick of butter. Very good
That sounds amazing Ronda!
How do I measure for a 2 quart slow cooker?
Sorry Teresa, this recipe has not been tested in a 2 quart slow cooker. However, I think it will work OK if you cut the recipe in half and watch the cooking time to prevent burning around the edges. If you give it a try come on back and let us know how it turned out for you!
2.5 hours is nowhere near enough time, it’s still raw. 4 hours on high, 6 hours on low. Otherwise, a good easy recipe.
Can I use a white cake mix?
Definitely! Hope you enjoy, Gale!
There is a typo in the cooking time, heading
Cook Time: 2 minutes
should be
Cook Time: 2 hours
Thanks Nancy, we recently switched recipe cards and it looks like some of the times got messed up and converted to minutes and not hours. I have fixed thi recipe.
I did this recipe a long time ago and it was absolutely y. I have the ingredients today so I’m gonna do it again.
