Why does it have to cook so long if you are using cooked chicken? I would have thought no more than half that time would work since the chicken is already cooked.

I am sure you could cut the time down on this. I was out of the house when it was cooking and that was just how long I let it cook. I would think 2-3 if that would do just fine.

We made this tonight and it was spittle bland. Any way to spice it up?

You could add more garlic powder and maybe some freshly ground black pepper to spice it up a little if it was too bland for your tastes?

Could you actually just use raw chicken and have it cook in the soups for 6-8 hours on low?

The veggies and cheese portion might burn.

I made this today but didn’t have time to cook chicken beforehand. I added all ingredients to crockpot except broccoli and cooked 6 hours. Then shredded chicken and added broccoli and cooked 2 more hours. Delicious!

This is how I’ll try this! I’m looking for recipes I can toss in once and leave…not have to precook any parts of. I’m on bed rest for high risk pregnancy, and am really only supposed to be up long enough to use the restroom. Doing it this way I can cook the first part, toss the broccoli in, and not have to be up longer than allowed.

When I was a young teenager mom discovered this recipe around 2003 or 2004 when she began making a lot of weight watchers recipe. It is still one of my favorites to this day. And it has always been a hit with my own family that I have now and was always a hit growing up when we had guests or family come visit us from out of state. It is simple & so delicious. Personally I feel that any crockpot recipe that calls for chicken breasts— is always better when you use the frozen chicken breasts. It comes out so incredibly tender & soft without feeling stringy for the breasts tissue pattern. So happy to see that this recipe is still up online for others to see & try! It is definitely a keeper!!
