Add all ingredients to a 3 to 4 quart slow cooker (see note).
Cover and cook on LOW for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so until the chocolate chips are melted. Continue cooking longer only as needed stirring every 10 minutes.
Store finished hot fudge sauce in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
To reheat hot fudge sauce remove lid from container and microwave in 10 second intervals, stirring between intervals until melted and hot. You can also reheat the fudge in a pan of simmering water if you stored your hot fudge sauce in a glass jar.
Notes
If you do not have a small 3 to 4 quart slow cooker you can still make this recipe in a larger slow cooker simply by placing the ingredients in a heat proof bowl. I just use a glass Pyrex bowl and place it inside the stoneware crock insert of your slow cooker and cook according to the recipe.
