Spray a 6-quart slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or line with a slow cooker liner. (Optional)
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock.
In a small bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients (applesauce, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, black pepper and chili powder) and pour sauce over the top of the chicken.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours or until chicken registers 165° F on a meat thermometer.
