Ingredients
  • 16 ounces Walnut Halves
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger

  • 16 ounces Walnut Halves
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger

Prep Time 15minutes
Instructions
  1. Add walnuts and butter to a 6 quart or larger slow cooker.
  2. Heat on low and stir as the butter melts.
  3. Once the butter has melted, add in the powdered sugar stirring as you add to coat all the walnuts.
  4. Cook on high for 1 hour stirring occasionally.
  5. In a bowl, mix the remaining ingredients.
  6. Sprinkle the spice mixture on top of the walnuts stirring to coat all walnuts.
  7. Cook an additional 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  8. Lay a sheet of parchment paper or foil on a counter or table.
  9. Spread the nuts out evenly on the paper/foil allowing them to cool.
  10. Store in a sealed container or bag.

    I will definitely try these. Your warning about the sugar burning, made me wonder if you have tried aluminum foil between the crock and the heating element. My crock pot was always cooking everything too fast and was burning in some spots. So I wrapped the crock in heavy duty aluminum foil and not more burning and the temperature is now more even.

      yes you can use foil, that does help. Sugar will burn on foil too. But, the foil will make it easier to clean up!
