  1. Spray the bottom and sides of a 6 -7 quart oval crock-pot with non-stick cooking spray, or line with a crock-pot liner.
  2. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of crock-pot.
  3. In a bowl mix together well the brown sugar, vinegar, apple juice, garlic, soy sauce and pepper and pour over chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  5. Remove chicken from slow cooker and set aside.
  6. Pour liquid from the crock-pot into a saucepan and bring to a simmer on stove-top.
  7. In a small bowl or cup mix the cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry.
  8. Slowly pour slurry mixture into simmering sauce in pan and simmer while stirring until the mixture begins to thicken, about 2-3 minutes, and forms a glaze.
  9. Serve chicken with sauce/glaze over top for a delicious meal.
