  1. In a skillet on the stove-top cook the bacon until crispy, drain of paper towels and then chop bacon into bite sized pieces.
  2. Add chopped bacon and all remaining ingredients to a 6 quart or larger slow cooker and stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours.
Recipe Notes

If after several hours of cooking the beans seem a little too soupy, you can prop the lid of the slow cooker open a little bit with the handle of a wooden spoon to allow some of the excess liquid to evaporate.
