Freezer Meal Notes: Add chicken breasts or thighs to a gallon sized zippered freezer bag, add barbecue sauce, lime juice and lime zest. Lay bag on a flat surface and push extra air out of bag and zip seal. Squish the bag a little bit with your hands to mix the lime into the barbecue sauce. Label bag with recipe name, ingredients and cooking instructions
Freezer Meal Cooking Instructions: Place bag on a plate in refrigerator and let thaw (at least partially) overnight – OR – place frozen bag in a sink of cold water for 1 hour until the ingredients in bag is partially thawed. Dump contents of freezer bag in a 5 to 6 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours if fully thawed or 5 to 7 hours if partially thawed or until chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink inside. Remove chicken pieces from slow cooker and place on a plate. Shred chicken meat with two forks and place shredded chicken back into slow cooker. Stir quickly to coat chicken with sauce and serve.
