Crock-Pot Chicken Teriyaki Pineapple Bowls
Chicken Teriyaki Pineapple Bowls was a dish I noticed a friend eating on Instagram and thus I wanted to make a crock-pot version. It really is an easy chicken teriyaki recipe to put together in the crock, I used my new rice cooker to make the rice, and then carved the bowls out of pineapple’s. They are often on sale right now at the grocery store so it’s a perfect time to do them. The carving was probably the hardest part of the whole meal.
The actual chicken teriyaki recipe turned out delicious, it smelled SO GOOD, and the kids and I loved the flavor. I was excited to use my new rice cooker. I’ve never had one before and have been wanting one for a while and managed to snag a Black and Decker 6 cup Rice Cooker and it works great. No more dry, burned or mushy rice!
As I mentioned earlier the most complicated part of this recipe is carving the pineapple. You cut them in half and then dig out the fruit part to make the “bowl”. You’ll want to keep as much of the flesh part as you can since you’ll want to eat that part too. Definitely only do this if you have some good sharp knives and a good cutting board. If you wish, you can skip the pineapple bowl portion and just cook the Teriyaki chicken, rice and just use some canned pineapple instead. No one will know and we won’t tell 😉 .
