I have edited the recipe – it is a 26 -27 oz box. Sorry about that April.

So the 26oz. box of mashed potatoes will serve more than 8-10 people? I have the 13.75 oz. and it says it will serve 18 people. Just want to get this right.. 🙂

I am wondering how this recipe would be with gravy at Thanksgiving. It seems so easy and it would be out of the way and done with and not something to do at the last minute?

I would put the gravy in a separate crock-pot on warm. And yes, then it is out of the way and off the stove and ready to go. Crock-pots can help free up your time in the kitchen on holidays.

Thank you. I just saw you reply. I’m going to try this for Thanksgiving. I think it will save me a lot of last minute hassles.

I made these today for a potluck and i dont think the size of box is correct. Are you sure that isnt supposed to be a much smaller box? Mine were way to dry and i had to add lots more liquid. I was wondering if it should have been a 16 oz box of potato flakes?

Are you sure that the amount of instant potatoes is correct? It seems like 26 oz is too much .

I followed this recipe and the 26oz box of potatoes is definitely way too much as the whole box is 34 servings, which would need 11 1/3 cups water, 17tbsp butter, 5+ cups of milk. I had to keep adding water and milk to absorb the potato flakes – hopefully these are good for our Thanksgiving meal in a couple hours.
