Well, it was time to break out a few Acorn Squashes from my summer garden. They were turning orange and were not looking great. I added just a little Heavy Cream to the squash and cooked them in the crock-pot. I was not wanting the strong flavor of sugar in the squash, but wanted more of the true squash flavor.
Crock-Pot Simple Acorn Squash
1 Medium Acorn Squash, halved and cored
1/4 Cup Heavy Cream
- Place halved acorn squash in the bottom of the crock-pot.
- Spoon the cream into the middle of the acorn squashes evenly between the 2.
- Using a fork, poke small holes into the meat of the acorn squash.
- Cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours or until a fork can easily be inserted into the meat of the squash.
