I actually made this twice. This is one that I tried the first time thinking it would be tasty, and it turned out like a big pile of mush with no flavor. So scratch that recipe (and to the dogs it goes) and start again. This is time number 2 for this. This time, the chicken tasted great, the Sweet & Sour sauce had a nice flavor and the chicken melted in your mouth. No pile of mush!
Crock-Pot Sweet & Sour Chicken
1.5 -2lbs Chicken Leg Quarters (or chicken breasts)
1 Jar Apricot Preserves (about 2 cups)
3 Tablespoons Heinz 57 Sauce
3 Tablespoons Italian Dressing
1 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
- In a bowl, mix the apricot preserves, Heinz 57 Sauce, Italian Dressing and Soy Sauce.
- Add the raw chicken to the crock-pot.
- Pour the mixed sauce over the chicken careful to coat all parts of the chicken.
- Cook on LOW for 3 hours.
